Bukit Timah Shopping Centre

The Bukit Timah Plaza was built in 1959 on the land of the Lam Choon Rubber Factory. It was described as one of the best community centres in Singapore at the time. The Bukit Timah Community Centre was relocated to Toh Yi Drive in 1988. The Centre’s name was changed to Beauty World Park when the building was redeveloped. In the meantime, the building was occupied by the Econ Nursing Home.
A new development has opened in the vicinity of Bukit Timah. It connects Clementi Road with Jalan Anak Bukit. It is named after the nearby seventh mile milestone of Bukit Timah Road. The new road also spans the site of the original Bukit Timah Circus. It used to be a one-way road. The road has since been reconstructed, but some parts were left behind for switching roads.
